Batavia Indoor Tournament

We found out that they were looking to fill one more spot in the JV and Jr High divisions so we put together two teams and went for it. We have never participated in a tournament like this and it was a bit of a learning curve for both the coaches and players, but both teams did well! There were 10 teams in each division, each game was 15 minutes, as soon as one game was over they reset the clock with 16 minutes, you had a minute to get on the court and be ready to play!

Our JV Team started early in the morning, they won their first 4 games earning them first place going into the playoffs. The first few games were physical and we were battling injuries going into the playoffs, we lost one game before the championship, but everyone played their hardest and left it all on the court!

Our Jr High team didn't have their first game until 3:30 PM, they also won their first 4 games earning them 2nd place going into the playoffs. The team they went up against was the first team they played earlier in the day and had won 1-0. At the end of the 15 minutes it was a tie! The way they break a tie is you start with your players on the court, after 1 minute you both sit a player, after another minute you sit another player....it was CRAZY! In the end we both had a 1 player and the goalie (Alex Hultberg and Morgan Maloney). Alex took a shot, their goalie saved it, then the goalie put the ball down and charged our goal making the shot! We will be back Batavia!
